This is primarily for Dragon, who hasn't used ProBoards before. To anyone who has, this is super basic info.[/b] On the "Application Form" thread, copy the code(shown in Figure 1). Figure 1.Posting Your Character Application
Step 2 Click back. On this page, click the "New Thread" button. FIGURE 2.
Step 3 Title the thread as "NAME, (age)" (obviously tailoring this to your specific character). Figure 3.
Step 4 Ignoring (most) of the information, fill out the form with information about your character. Figure 4 uses Tom's application as an example. Figure 4
Step 5 Click "Post message.[/ul]
Editing Your Profile
This is just a section of profile editing, the parts that display information about your character. Please view Figure 5.
TWO Not really things we use very much, but they will appear in what is called the "mini-profile". Next to every post, your mini-profile will appear.
THREE The avatar options. (Note: "avatars" are often also called "icons".) Enter the url and the size the icon is so that the board doesn't resize it for you to a smaller size. This board allows for icons as large as 125 by 200 pixels, but what is usually standard is 100 by 100 icons.
FOUR Personal text is where you can write pretty much anything. You can write here a motto of the character or your pen name so other members can remember who plays which character.
FIVE Signatures appear below every post of yours. Some people fill this section with images of the character, information about him/her, or links to their various threads. For this site, if your character is a shapeshifter or has a familiar, we ask that you put that information here. This is also a good spot to list your pen name, but don't put your pen name in both the signature and the personal text; it's redundant.[/ul]
Glossary
(Not in alphabetical order, sorry!)
CATEGORY A sub-unit of a forum. This contains information and posts of similar content. Figure 6.
BOARD A smaller unit of a category. Most categories have at least a few boards beneath them. Boards are even more specific than categories. (See Figure 6.)
SUB-BOARD Not all boards have sub-boards, but when even a board isn't specific enough, it's more organized to create a sub-board than to have multiple boards of very similar functions. Figure 7.
THREAD A single conversation. Threads are listed either under boards or sub-boards. Figure 8.
POST A thread is made up of multiple posts. Most threads (especially those for roleplaying) alternate between different members and characters. (Image coming).
