THE MESS HALL The common area of the Base. The mess hall is a large, open room that perhaps was once a gymnasium. The kitchens are just off the south door, often bustling with activity. One half of the mess hall is filled with mismatched tables and chairs, while the other side is littered with old couches and chairs. It is here that Residents tend to socialize during their free time. Sub-board: THE PIANO ROOM |

BARRACKS & HOUSING Most Residents live in the barracks: a large room packed full of beds and cots. It leaves little privacy, but the walls are thick and the room stays warm even during winter. More respected Residents (level 3 or higher) share smaller rooms on the second floor. Only the oldest and most renowned Residents (level 5) have their own individual rooms. Sub-board: THE SICK ROOM |

LIBRARY The library is located just outside the mess hall in a small, two-story building. Small though it is, the building is absolutely packed with books of all kinds. Most are well-worn, and some require mending by the Stewards, but they are all available to be read. This little building holds most of the Base's knowledge of the rest of the world. It's an excellent place to study and has an entire wall filled with books on magic, some written by former Residents. |

GARDEN West of the library and the mess hall are several acres of meager farmland. The Base's wall protects them from thieves and wild animals, but they still need plenty of tending. The majority of the Base's food is grown here. At the south end of the garden are two pens for the chickens and the goats. The fences often need mending to keep the animals from getting loose and eating the Gardeners' precious crops. |

THE MINE Down a steep staircase in the southeast corner of the Base is the mine. Here Miners dig through the earth for anything of use: old relics from before the apocalypse, bits of metal, anything at all that can be used. They are also in the processes of digging an underground shelter that will fit all the Residents in emergencies. |

THE FOREST To the north of the Base is an old forest. If there were every any signs of humanity in this place, the plants have long since hidden them. Here many plants grow freely, but keep in mind, not all of them are safe! Some game also dwells in the forest, depending on the season. |

THE CITY Just outside of the Base is what used to be a city. The remaining ruins are in shambles, of course, but it's a useful place to search for goods to take back to the Base. Eerily quiet with plenty of shadows, the city is frightening at best. Who knows what dangers might lurk in the darkness? Sub-boards: TALLSIDE, GREENVILLE |
